This weekend

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this weekend.

Making salsa to can, preserved lemons, and pizza sauce for the freezer.

The garden is doing nicely, though perhaps behind other people's (it is in the shade too much for my liking)

And we relaxed. The best part.

Summer is....

Well, the garden is thriving, except where the rabbits have attacked! I've just finished putting up the deer/rabbit netting and replanting the beans and adding in some kale. The tomatoes and coriander are happy as can be. I even had enough to freeze.

Summer is well under way. At the lake there are baby ducks (and swans too)

A DIY project to make a terrible dresser loved by two little girls (they picked the spray paint)

This guy was caught having a rummage in the garden

It's been a cool spring (I think)

We have had some hot days............

Jess found this blue tongued lizard in the garden today. That is her sunning spot and she wasn't happy to share it. I read recently that these lizards give birth to live young AND can live for 30 years. Cool!

Merry Christmas!

Into the spring

Delicious Eccles Cakes. Find the recipe here.

A home made tee-pee

The start of the garden

It was grey, and windy, but warm. Not warm enough for the water, in my opinion. The girls didn't agree.
