Here is what we were up to this weekend--putting up our polytunnel.
First we put the frame together
Then we moved it into position, and anchored it using ground spikes. Then we dug a trench around the outside.
Next we put the cover on, and buried the ends of the cover in the trench. We filled the trench back in with the soil and sod, then covered over with cement slabs and heavy rocks. We live on top of a very windy hill and are hoping this will help keep it from becoming airborne!

Looks like it was a family affair including the critters! Our chickens always love to be involved when we are digging too in case any treats turn up. I'm curious to see how the gardening goes with your new polytunnel.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fab - looking forward to seeing what you grow in it. it looked fairly easy and stress free to put up. We ordered ours yesterday, but will need to concrete the tubes in place. xxx
ReplyDeleteCement is a great idea! We are renting and aren't allowed to put in anything permanent.
