Art Work

Isla and Rori both love crafting and art work.  Here are some of their latest creations.

Isla's pictures tell a story.

The pumpkin explodes,and chaos ensues.

Rori likes to paint pictures from books.  Here are a few from Little Miss books (I think the twin book).

She also drew a picture of the cast of the tv show iCarly (a family favourite).

Spring Planting

Well in our little corner of the world we are having lovely weather.  So lovely in fact, that the girls and I started our spring planting.

We put in early potatoes in our tire planters:

Then in the poly tunnel we planted strawberries, peas, lettuce, radish, spinach, and started tomatoes and courgette.

Such concentration!

I've got some very happy gardeners!

All the containers we used for starting seeds we have saved from our fruit and veg purchases over the winter.

After all the hard work was over it was time to have some fun! They are still wearing their wellie boots and gardening gloves (it made me giggle).

Happy Spring!  I wish I could bottle up my happiness with the sunshine, warm weather and emerging plant life so I can remember it next winter.

Signs of Spring

The surest sign of spring--I'm not wearing a hat OR  jacket!!!!!!!

Found this little guy in the field this afternoon.  I took this picture right before the dog laid on him.  No worries, he appeared unscathed.

The daffodils are blooming!!

Pirate Costumes and a Picnic

More information on the pirate costumes here.

With the nice weather this past week, I took the girls on a picnic at the river and then for a play in the park.  They brought along their dolls from Rainbows, it is our turn to show them a good time this week!

7 Days (in pictures)

Taking inspiration from The Barefoot Crofter

My attempt to take a picture of the full moon.

I'm going American redneck here with a tractor tire for a raised bed.
Free = happy!

The snow drops think it is spring.  I can only hope they are right!

The girls made a Valentines decoration

I finally sewed the handle on my felted bag

The girls were very curious what I was doing taking pictures of the snow drops.
